- Okonomi Sauce
Cheese potato mochi

Ingredients

[A]Otafuku Okonomi Sauce | 3 tablespoons |
[A]water | 2 tablespoons |
[B]potato starch | 3 tablespoons |
[B]milk | 2 tablespoons |
[B]sault | about 2 pinches |
Sliced cheese | 3 slices |
Vegetable oil | 1 tablespoon |
White sesame seeds | to taste |
Instructions
- Cut the potatoes into small pieces, place them in a heatproof bowl, cover loosely with plastic wrap, and microwave for about 5 minutes (600W). In a separate container, mix together the ingredients labeled as [A]
- While the potatoes are still hot, mash them with a masher, then add the ingredients labeled as [B] and mix thoroughly with a rubber spatula.
- Divide the mixture into 6 portions and shape them into rounds. Fold half a slice of cheese and place it in the center of each portion, then wrap the mixture around the cheese. Repeat this process for the remaining portions.
- Heat some vegetable oil in a frying pan, place the shaped mochi in the pan, and cook over medium-low heat until both sides are golden brown. Once browned, add the sauce from step 1 and toss to coat.
- Serve on a plate and sprinkle with white sesame seeds as a topping.
